I'm Tonia, Founder of ItsMyBag
Tonia Torrellas is a Mompreneur, Nurse, Inventor — and someone who has always believed in giving back.
A self-described problem-solver and passionate environmentalist, Tonia founded It's My Bag after noticing how resistant people and businesses were to ditching single-use disposable bags. Her solution was elegant: a clear, see-through reusable bag that lets you see exactly what's inside — removing the biggest barrier to adoption.
Raised by Depression-era parents who instilled in her a deep respect for resources, Tonia has long believed that when it comes to our planet, there's no red, no blue — only green. We are all stewards of this Earth, and together we can protect it for generations to come.
What started as a simple concept — a reusable dry cleaning garment bag to replace disposable ones — has grown into the multifaceted It's My Bag brand. Today, our bags serve everything from shopping and travel to bridal transport, corporate gifting, closet organization, and safety and security.
In 2020, It's My Bag took an unexpected turn when our dual-compartment, patented garment bag became a go-to solution for frontline workers during COVID-19. With a built-in hamper that keeps clean and used clothes separated, many physicians and essential workers called it their "Personal Portable Locker" — a fashionable take on PPE that's also reusable and eco-friendly. T-Mobile took notice too, purchasing hundreds of bags as part of their give-back initiatives.
As the world reopened, we introduced It's My Bag 2.0 — same patented built-in hamper design, now with a razor-back feature for additional storage. Made both in the USA and overseas for flexibility and faster turnaround.
Whether you're heading to work, planning a weekend getaway, celebrating a bride, hitting the golf course, or sending a new grad off on their next adventure — It's My Bag is there for the journey.
We're growing into a full lifestyle brand of reusables, and we're looking for partners to help us reimagine everyday essentials — from shoe boxes and pizza boxes to food carriers, filtered water bottles, compost bins, and more. All reusable. All purposeful.
This spring we launched our podcast, "B" Our Planet's Solution — inspiring the power of one reusable at a time, through the Word of Mom Media Network. Thank you to creator and producer Dori DeCarlo for giving us this platform to bring stories of living green and sustainably to life.
